The week before Christmas

Instead of sitting here on the computer, I really should be wrapping presents, doing catch up school, cleaning, wrapping...did I mention wrapping? lol I'm going to be helping a friend with her site, plus I have my other blog I want to update. This week is busier than normal with JJ lifting, cleaning, wrapping, schooling. I really think we'll keep schooling over break since Cricket is behind a little and Lexi wants to move ahead. Just need to get the wraping done so I have room to move in here! Then I can do my cleaning and figure out what to do in here. Might move furniture around. Not sure. I do know I want to get up curtains. These miniblinds just aren't working.
It finally snowed! A bit over 5 inches. Not as much as they called for, but it'll do for now! We better get a big storm this winter! I'm looking forward to being snowed in! *grin*
This Christmas I was seriously unorganized. *sigh* Got *alot* more than I thought (and I can't find a bag or 2). I need to have my organizer done and ready by Halloween next year! I get it from organizedChristmas.com. It helps me keep track of who I have to buy for, what I got, stocking stuffers, cards, etc. This year was just going into a store and shopping. Not good!!
I keep losing days. You know how you go around tinking it's one day and it turns out it's a day later than you thought? Yep. Keeps happening to me! I really can't afford to lose any days either.
Maybe I'll try a household organizer. They have them at organizedhome.com and I've seen them at womansday.com. Anywhere they have printables, really. Get my bills organized by due date, phone numbers for everyone (including insurance, stores, food places, etc.), fast food coupons, etc. See if that helps with keeping me on task. I'd like to start my own Christmas and vacation clubs. Nothing with the bank, just on my own. See how it goes. Also pick things up during the year. That means I'll have to get the storage rooms in the basement cleaned out and organized! Making me tired just thinking about that! UGH! I do know I need to get back into the furnace room. There's stuff to donate, more to trash, other stuff to put aside for yard sale time, other stuff to sort through. See how much room I can make for containers of decorations, then some empty for gift storage.
My oldest got me a nice pair of K Swiss for Christmas! Yeah!! The Reebok's I have are meshy and are a bit chilly to wear in the winter. Still no boots, but I haven't had tme to go through all the boxes and find all our shoes yet. Maybe when I finally get through all my clothes it'll make some room for me to move around.
Uh oh. Just remembered I have a conatiner of presents in the basement that are back in the one corner. That's going to be fun - not! I may be able to get JJ to get them for me. They need wrapped for Thursday - weather permitting!
Guess that's enough babbling for one day! Better get off here and get something one before I go pick up JJ.

December

Alot has been going on, and unfortunately, not all good. *sigh* Still dealing with the estate issues, have some schooling issues going on, trying to declutter/ clean/ organize, working on 4 separate businesses, raising 6 kids and dealing with a dh who gets pissy cuz the house is a mess, he has to work late/ has a class that he can't make due to being sent out late on a call.
Looks like I'll be going out on Chritmas Eve to finish shopping. I had to pay some bills (someone here has to!), and have no money until then to finish. Definitely will be different next year! I got my organizer together too late this year and didn't even use the thing:(
I still have so much to do in here. Feeling overwhelmed doesn't help me get motivated either. Wrapping presents, cleaning, organizing my stuff/ school stuff/ work stuff, decluttering, cleaning, rearranging, doing surveys, school work, etc. I know tomorrow I have to run my oldest around for her to do some of her shopping. Later dh has his eye appointment so he can get his glasses. Finally! His good pair went out to sea when he wore them in the ocean and got hit in the face by a wave. This pair has spots on the lenses plus the arms are all messed up. Hope they don't take too long to get!
Looking at getting some snow here for the weekend. I only have running to do tomorrow, so I don't care what it does the rest of the weekend! I can work in here and maybe get more mrked off my to do list.
Gathering up the bills to pay has been depressing. Still getting used to paying a separate sewer bill. Living in the city we paid the sewer with our water bill. It's expensive to live out here!
I'm trying to find some more vendor shows apply for. I have some stock for Noah's Ark (and hope to get more soon), and have some nice displays for Uppercase Living (and will be getting a bunch for the spring shows). I'm looking to do some letters to different places to promote these two. Mainly working on these two, and the other 2 I'll keep doing for my discount and possible fundraising opps. Looking for other way to make a few extra dollars while at home. I don't get to sleep much due to stress, so I may as well do something productive!
Maybe after our running tomorrow I'll pull up the carpeting in the hall and kitchen. I need to rearrange the boxes, butcher's block and dresser in the kitchen. Maybe make some room for a table so we can sit to eat. Get the rest of our chairs from the addition so we can eat as a family.
The weekend after Christmas seems like a good time to list some stuff for sale. I'll so my 5 free on ebay, then list some on kidzola and see how that goes. I have a few things I have to get appraised to see if they're worth anything (doubt it). Most of the stuff will be clothes, books, toys, some homeschool books that I'll probably list on the one group I'm on. Try to clear out some of this stuff so we have room to move around. I didn't chose this house, but we're here for the time being. Just need to make the best of it for the time we're here. I was thinking the other day, I've never lived in a house (as an adult) that I *liked* or felt truly at home. How sad is that? There were the 3 apartments (one was noted for drug activity), then the other house was what we could afford at that time to get us out of the druggie apartment complex. Now here. Hasn't been updated in years, stress at every turn, wallpaper on every wall, carpet in the bathrooms, carpet in the kitchen, no back door, shed was falling down, back awning is being held up by sheer willpower, front window has condensation and is drafty, kitchen window is the wrong size (gap at the top, plus the top *falls* down when unlocked), one bedroom window will fall down when unlocked. The list goes on! Then there's the list to do for the township for the CO! ARGH!! Like I have time to spend (and the money) getting all of this done when the house is still in dh's dead mom's name! Just the aggravation of it all added on top of everything else going on. I think I need more chocolate! I gave up drinking and smoking. Need some sort of vice!
Well, looks like all the kids have finally went to sleep - unless my teen son decides to raid the fridge again!!

Sunday night

Okay, so it's technically Monday morning, sue me. This is my quiet time! lol Been trying to get a few things figured out, and still confused. I do know tomorrow I get to call for a dumpster. Yeah me! Get a bunch of stuff cleaned out and then I can think about one of those PODs. The shed needs to come down and we'll need someplace for the tractor (with plow, so it needs to be in front), lawn mower, trimmer, snow blower, kids ride ons and a few other things.

Planning our menu for the week. Tomorrow will be sausage sandwiches. I'll get them in the crockpot early so the girls can eat when we're at football. Having games Monday and Friday is rough, plus the dinner Thursday nights means a later arrival. Luckily he'll just snack that night! lol

Still have to get to clean out the other house of all our stuff. I'd like to spend some time in the basement tomorrow (maybe I can have 3 kids doing school down there at once??), and start going through some of the stuff down there. I'd like to do an area for yard sale (have one early next year)/online sales. Try to figure out where to put all of the holiday stuff and organize stuff that we just threw in boxes to move. No time for a yard sale now. Too much going on with sports and trying to get organized with doing school with 4 kids!

We're looking to replace our phone. We *had* one with 4 handsets, but 2 broke, and the other 2 are acting up. I need working phones for when teachers call!

Going to start planning next years garden. Our tomato plants grew to be 6' tall! They were as tall as the corn stalks next to them!! There will be some things that need to be moved around, have to build string bean supports, figure something out for cantaloupe (ours ended up rotting from so much rain), and where everything should go.

I'll be poring over books to figure out how I want the backyard. It's a real mess - we stopped doing work because of all of this estate bull. Once that's done, and it's all over, I can start poring over books and websites. Maybe if I can declutter enough, I'll send pics to try to get on one of the DIY shows! Get the yard/ inside done. It would be nice to live in a house that actually looks decent. Our firt house, we didn't even paint for almost 10 years! We had it staged to sell, but had to rush and not everything got done. *sigh* The stuff I have to use for decorating will have to be put in a container or 2 so it doesn't get lost or broken.

It's late and I have a full day tomorrow. I hope to do better on here! Not sure I can do daily, but I can try!!

Starting

Ok, I guess it's time I start doing something here! I've had this for a few months now and figure I should do something here.
Things are off to a busy school year! Last week we had 2 start, this week the K starts and I hope my 10th grader will start - waiting on his cyber to finish his paperwork so we can pick courses. He's busy with football - practice every night, plus 2 games every week! He gets decent field time on Varsity and then there's the JV games.
We're still carless here. Well, we *have* them, they're just not running. I hope to soon since I've been paying car insurance for 9 months and can't even drive them! Would also make all my errands easier, and I'd be able to sign the littles up for classes.
Not only do I cyber school my kids, but I decided I wasn't busy enough! I signed on to sell Uppercase Living (http://shelszoo.uppercaseliving.net) which has some awesome vinyl for your walls, or wherever you want to put them! I also do Greeting Cakes (www.GreetingCakeCo.com) which are cute 4" microwaveable cakes that com with icing and candles. Really cute gift idea, can also be used for fundraising. Then I also do Noah's Ark Animal Workshop/Bella Bee Glamour Parties. They'll be having free sign ups from 9/15 to 10/15 Check out my site www.shelszoogifts.com for more information on that one. I signed up during a promotion for Enchanted Potions. I've been too busy to really check into that one so far, but hope to get a few minutes this week to find out all of the product line and all that good stuff. I'm supposed to have a website for there too, which I'll add when I know what it is! lol
We don't have enough people living here, so we added animals. There's Roxy, a plot hound we got from a rescue (she was rescued from a high kill shelter in OH). She's older than we thought, but still has alot of energy. Gucci is my oldest's black Pomeranian. This dog should be in the circus as a clown! Some days she has us laughing for hours! We have 4 cats too. Princess was the first (out of the current group) to come in our home. She's a rescue we got as a kitten. I'd say she's about 4 or 5 now. Then after we had her, a friend told us about a stray in their yard. She couldn't take in another animal since her dh is allergic. That's how Tiger came to live with us. Finally we have Abby Sciuto and Ziva David. I saw an ad in a pet store and the pictures reminded me of our old cat Peanut Butter Cup. So when I met the lady, I decided I wanted both the girls (calicoes), even though my dh said to get one. Oh well! Got free coupons for betas. Managed to get 3, but Abby decided to eat 2. The survivor is locked in the girls bedroom with the door shut at all times. Just got another coupon, and added 2 hermit crabs. Not sure why, we really don't have the room for more animals! lol
Now is the time to declutter in this house. I've been trying to sort the girls' clothes. I spent way too much at past yard sales (didn't get to hit many this summer due to lack of funds), but at least they have clothes for awhile! I do have to go through and weed stuff out. Getting to be time to bring out the winter clothes. It's been cool here the past few days! Perfect football weather!!
I am planning to write more about thrifty tips and eating at home more. Get a few good fall back recipes that are quick and have all the ingredients on hand. Throw in some freezer meals (OAMC, batch cooking, cooking ahead) and we should be set for awhile. My husband does the cooking, but maybe if we get into a better system, I'd start more. He'd love that since he works long hours at the change of season.
It's getting late and I have to get some sleep. Still have a ton of work to do tomorrow. Not even close to being unpacked from our move, and I have to make sure I'm ready to do school with at least 3 next week. Possibly print out some work for our prek to do so she doesn't feel left out.

Have a great week everyone!
